UN Global Compact (UNGC) Malaysian Chapter (GCMY) is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, had its first networking session for almost 8 years since its establishment in 2008 with its secretariat located in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. The session was aimed at setting the motion on meeting its targeted objectives, which is a call to companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Purvan J. Sevanathan, Founder and President of UN Global Impact Malaysia Chapter (GCMY) together with key exco members.
Amongst the participants were several corporate leaders including Dr. Chutamas Vongvorakit of Anametrics Holdings Limited and Mr. Dennis Seah, CEO of IBB International Holdings Limited. IBB International has been presented a certificate of membership for its role in promoting sustainable business models and proprietary impact investments modules when developing its family of funds. Dr. Chutamas was elated with the membership as Anametrics and its subsidiaries have always been an ardent promoter of such initiatives. IBB International CEO, Mr. Dennis Seah pointed out he will continually to strive and progress in tandem with UNGC goals. He also added, “If companies big and small align to a standardized platform of sustainable growth, our future generations will inevitably be able to enjoy the fruits of our labour. We should build our world with a promising future and not plague it with all kinds of negativities including diseases.”
